Letter From an Old Geezer: November 24, 2018 – Taste the Fruits of the Spirit

Accepting Jesus into our lives blends our Spirit with His Spirit. From this union comes the fruit of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. As we begin our Christian walk, we need to live the integrity of the Spiritual Fruits.

The Fruit of Love is the most important fruit that we can taste. We are to love our fellow man as our selves. Without love, nothing else matters.

JoyHappiness, a great pleasure, delight.

PeaceCan only be drawn from the Lord.

LongsufferingLong, patient endurance of injuries, insults, trouble.

Kindness…Sympathetic, tenderhearted, generous.

Goodness…Honorable, respectable, morally sound.

Faithfulness…Unquestioning belief in God.

Gentleness…Courteous, calm, tranquil, quiet.

Self Control…Control our emotions, desires, actions.

The Fruits of the Spirit that we receive while here on earth is just a beginning of what we will encounter when we meet the Lord. With this in mind, reach forward for those things which are ahead.

Letter From an Old Geezer: November 10, 2018 – Slow down, simplify, and be kind.

This page, and the words on it, is intended to convey a short simple message for those who will hear. It is a message to help us stay focused on The Lord and to live our lives according to His Will.

His Will begins with one word…LOVE. This is the one ultimate word with the cohesiveness that blends our actions with God’s desires for us into a perfect covering, if we follow God’s Will.

It requires effort on our part and can sometimes be thwarted; as, there are times in our lives when we’re so caught up in the rush of the hour that we lose the tic tock moments of life. These tic-tock moments are the glue that gives life meaning.

This message is that Life’s meaning is not about us, but it is about others, our brothers and sisters. Don’t miss those opportunities to listen to others and let them know that we care. These are tic-tock moments.

Slow down, simplify, and be kind.

You can never do a kindness too soon,

For you never know how soon it will be too late.

Letter From an Old Geezer: October 24, 2018 – How To Get To Heaven

How To Get To Heaven

Follow These Directions . . .

First, take the Justification up ramp, where you are separated from the penalty of sin, and onto the Sanctification Freeway.

Then follow the Sanctification Freeway, where you are separated from the power of sin, and thence to the Glorification Gate. This journey will take a lifetime.

At the Glorification Gate, you are separated from the presence of sin, to receive complete Salvation as you enter into Heaven.

If you have trouble with following these directions, then ask Jesus to be your chauffeur and He will safely take you there.

JUSTIFICATION:

Saying yes to Jesus

SANCTIFICATION:

Becoming more like Jesus

GLORIFICATION:

Jesus calling us Home

SALVATION:

We Are Saved

Letter From an Old Geezer: October 24, 2018 – How To Get To Heaven

Letter From an Old Geezer: October 10, 2018 – YOUR FAITH AND BELIEF WILL BRING YOU THERE

When we became Christians and entered God’s Highway to Heaven, we learned that this journey is not an easy one, because the World tries to influence us with its pleasures and stop our progress to Heaven.

As we entered God’s Highway to Heaven, we realized that we would not have enough regular fuel in our tanks to give us the endurance to make our journey to Heaven non-stop, so we decided to use Premium Heavenly High Octane Fuel. Its ingredients are . . . Messages from The Pulpit, Fellowship with our Christian Brothers, Reading and Living the Word, and when mixed with The Holy Spirit as an additive, this gives us the power and endurance to go all the way.

Just remember that God gave each of us the freedom to make our own choice, so be sure to choose Premium fuel from Heaven instead of the low octane fuel that the world offers; then travel in peace, knowing that you have a full tank of Gods Fuel that will get you there.

YOUR FAITH AND BELIEF  WILL BRING YOU THERE

Letter From an Old Geezer: September 24, 2018 – THE WILL OF GOD NEVER TAKES YOU TO WHERE THE GRACE OF GOD WILL NOT PROTECT YOU

Many words have been written to help us keep our focus on the Lord. In these writings, my hope has been that one of the words in these letters may help to draw someone closer to the Lord or for someone lost, to find his or her way home.

As time becomes shorter and that day fast approaches when we will see the Lord, we have a grave responsibility to share our beliefs and feelings about the Lord with others.

As we see and meet people each day in our lives, we should be a shining light, sharing the Lord with them. Think about this: God may be trying to work in another person’s life through you.

THE WILL OF GOD NEVER TAKES YOU TO WHERE THE GRACE OF GOD WILL NOT PROTECT YOU

Letter From an Old Geezer: September 11, 2018 – WE ARE CREATED TO BE FOREVER. BE CAREFUL IN CHOOSING YOUR FINAL DESTINATION.

Regardless of how we believe, we should accept the fact that we are God’s creation. As God’s creation, our birth is just the beginning of our journey into eternity.

We begin our life clothed in God’s complete innocence, and as we progress from crawling, to walking, and then to running, we lose the robe of innocence and enter into the age of accountability. Somewhere along the way, we will realize that there is only one final question we have to answer in life: Do we want to go to Heaven or Hell?

This question has to be answered by making one of two choices: Choose God and Heaven and a life of eternal peace, or follow Satan into Hell and abandon all hope forever. When you weigh these two choices, the answer should be obvious. Remember, your eternal life hangs in the balance.

It is very important to remember that we can still make this choice as long as we have breath on this earth. Don’t linger too long because time is short. Once we depart from this earth our last and final decision can’t be changed, and it is forever. There is no turning back.

WE ARE CREATED TO BE FOREVER. BE CAREFUL IN CHOOSING YOUR FINAL DESTINATION.

For those who have ears to hear and eyes to see,

An Old Geezer

Letter From an Old Geezer: August 24, 2018 – THIS ISN’T GOODBYE, BUT UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

Open Letter To Fellow Christians,

Here are some thoughts that we don’t often visit. Some of us folks find that our bodies are getting older and wearing out as earthly longevity catches up with us. Upon reflection, we realize that our departure for the next age is approaching.

For those who don’t dwell on these thoughts, remember that a sudden catastrophic accident could end anyone’s life, young or old. Whichever happens, as Christians, it is a win-win situation. Here on earth, we are with The Lord in Spirit, and when we move on, we will be in the presence of the Lord in Heaven.

When a Christian we know and love leaves us, we are sure of where they are going and with whom they will be. Even though their departure is of a great loss to us, it is also a time for rejoicing, for they will be in Heaven. We, who remain, will later rejoin those who have departed ahead of us and we will spend eternity with them.

THIS ISN’T GOODBYE, BUT UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

For those who have ears to hear and eyes to see,

An Old Geezer
