Letter 259 – July 4th, 1776

The United States of America was not named in the Bible, but was described 2700 Years ago in Isaiah 18 1-3. This was the beginning prophesy about America, and from this beginning, our Country of Thirteen Colonies declared its Independence from England on July 4 1776. It was then in 1857 that Pastor F.E. Pitts delivered this message to the Congress of the United States in order to share God’s plan for America.

 

It has been 241 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. I wonder how many remember the importance of this date? How many know that Our Country was formed on the Principles laid out by God? How many know what The Declaration of Independence says?

 

“We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and pursuit of Happiness.”

 

Our Freedom comes with a price. This price is the blood spilled and the death of our brave men and women suffering while fighting for our County.

 

Wherever we are now, we need to retrench our thoughts back to July 4th 1776 and embrace the mind set of that time.

Letter 223 – July 4th 2016

The 4th of July, 1776 was the beginning of our Nation with the signing of our “The Declaration of Independence”. Upon this, our forefathers began to build this Nation on the fundamentals laid out by God.

 

What is our Nation?. It is so many things. It is a beautiful land with distant horizons that stretches from sea to sea. It is the children in school and the people at work. It began as a home for people seeking the freedom to worship God, and it grew into a great Nation. It is the land of the free and home of the brave.

 

This freedom came at a great cost…The blood and the lives of so many of our service men and women, young and old. Lest we forget, we owe them and their memories a great debt of gratitude from which we can never fully repay.

 

Since The 4th of July 1776, signing of the Declaration of Independence and the writing and adoption of our great Constitution, which was influenced by the Almighty God of the Bible, we the people have grown up in a proud, honest land. The fabric of our growing up has instilled in us a heart felt patriotism. This is our heritage. Let us not forget.
